Kavi® Showcase Help

Chapter 5. Featuring

Overview

Kavi Showcase provides widgets and configuration options that allow your organization to feature profiles and catalog items. You may opt to select profiles and catalog items manually or set criteria for automatic selection. If featuring options are enabled, a rotating selection of featured profiles and catalog items is displayed on the Public Landing page, so that each time someone visits the page they can see a different profile and catalog item.

How to determine which objects are featured

If manual featuring is enabled, Super Admins can view the settings in the featuring configuration tools. When auto-selection is enabled you will have to go to the Done step to review the currently selected objects.

Report Admins and other admins can get this information through the default Profile Data Report and Catalog Item Data Reports. The 'profile_featured' and 'catalog_featured' columns display 'Yes' for objects currently being featured. The '_featured_start' and '_featured_end' columns display the dates on which featuring is scheduled to begin and end, but if specific dates weren't set when featuring was configured, these fields will be empty.

  • If the featured start and end date fields are empty but '_featured' is 'Yes', the object is currently featured and featuring will continue indefinitely.

  • If the featured start and end date fields are empty and '_featured' is 'No', the object is not currently featured.

  • If the featured start and end dates contain dates in the past, the object was featured. If they contain dates in the future, the object is scheduled for featuring.
