Kavi® KOrg 3.0 Release Notes

What is KOrg?

The Kavi KOrg 3.0 framework provides the fundamental building blocks upon which Kavi applications are developed. This framework consists of a set of UI widgets, common database components, and a wide variety of other application building blocks and utilities. By utilizing this framework, Kavi can efficiently develop robust applications that have a consistent set of behaviors and functionality.

It encompasses other applications, including Kavi Mailing List Manager, Kavi Edit and Kavi WebApps. These applications have their own release notes.

New in KOrg 3.0

• Ported to Python 2.4 and Zope 2.9:
  All application code has been ported to Python 2.4 and Zope 2.9 to take advantage of new functionality and performance.
• New Kavi Page Tester:
  Used to test-render all pages and report on the results (/ksystem/kpage_tester).
• New KFile Report:
  Reports on Zope-stored KFiles, including features to find and fix broken KFiles as well as providing size and location summaries (/ksystem/kfile_report).

Other Changes in KOrg 3.0

• Kavi input fields now support the ISO Latin-1 character set.
• Improved navigation tool management.
• Kavi Report Builder has passed live-site testing and been released for use by all Super Admins.
